Tafsiriyat

Tafsir treatises constitute a significant part of the classical exegetical tradition and represent one of the principal sources reflecting the scholarly heritage of Islamic intellectual history. Nevertheless, a considerable number of these works remain preserved only in manuscript form in libraries, while many others, despite having been published, have not yet received the scholarly attention they deserve. This situation points to an important gap in the critical evaluation of the tafsir heritage and its accessibility to contemporary researchers.

In response to this need, Tefsiriyat is pleased to announce a special issue entitled "Tafsīr Treatises." The issue welcomes original scholarly studies focusing on tafsir treatises from both the classical and modern periods.

The special issue welcomes submissions in the following categories:

• Critical Editions (Taḥqīq): Scholarly editions of tafsir treatises prepared on the basis of manuscript sources (critical editions).
• Analytical Studies: Academic analyses of published or newly edited tafsir treatises, examining their methodology, sources, terminology, exegetical approaches, intellectual context, and scholarly contributions.
• Translations: Scholarly annotated translations of tafsir treatises written in Arabic, Ottoman Turkish, or other languages, prepared in accordance with accepted academic standards.

The primary objective of this special issue is to contribute to the preservation of the manuscript heritage of tafsir, promote its publication through rigorous scholarly methods, encourage analytical studies from diverse perspectives, and introduce this rich legacy to the international academic community.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

Tefsiriyat cordially invites researchers whose work contributes to bringing the classical tafsir heritage to light to submit their original studies for this special issue.
