Author Guidelines
TEFSIRIYAT JOURNAL – AUTHOR GUIDELINES
1. General Principles
Tefsiriyat Journal accepts for evaluation scholarly works by all researchers engaged in academic studies related to the Qur’an, tafsir, and qirāʾāt.
The journal adopts the İSNAD Citation System, 2nd Edition (İSNAD–In-text and İSNAD–Footnote) for citation and referencing. Author name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) must be provided on the first page of the manuscript in accordance with the İSNAD Citation System
(see: https://www.isnadsistemi.org/guide/akademik-yazim/3-yazar-ve-kurum-bilgisinin-yazimi).
Submissions must not have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
2. Articles Derived from Theses or Conference Papers
Articles derived from postgraduate theses or conference papers are eligible for evaluation provided that a clear ethical statement is included at the beginning of the manuscript.
Sample ethical statement:
This article is derived from my master’s thesis/doctoral dissertation entitled “...”, completed/presented on …
(Master’s Thesis / PhD Dissertation, … University, Gaziantep/Turkey, 2026).
In articles derived from postgraduate theses, the thesis author must be indicated as the first author.
3. Research and Publication Ethics
For studies requiring ethical approval, approval must be obtained from the relevant ethics committee. The name of the committee, date of approval, and decision/reference number must be clearly stated on the first page and in the methodology section of the manuscript.
Ethics committee approval is mandatory for all research conducted in social sciences as well as for clinical and experimental studies involving humans or animals. Such approval must be explicitly stated and documented in the article.
The journal includes a separate Research and Publication Ethics section on its website, prepared with reference to national and international standards. Under this section, ethical principles are specified separately for:
-
Authors,
-
Reviewers,
-
Editors.
Authors must explicitly state that their manuscripts comply with Research and Publication Ethics. In this context, submissions are expected to follow the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding international standards for editors and authors.
Permission must be obtained for any scales or instruments used in data collection, and this permission must be declared in the manuscript. Authors are also required to comply with copyright regulations regarding all ideas and works used.
4. Language Policy
The journal publishes articles written in Turkish, Arabic, and English.
For manuscripts written in languages other than the Latin alphabet, the following must be provided in Latin script:

In each issue, a maximum of one work of the same type by the same author may be published. Multiple works of different types by the same author may be published.
